“So grateful for Wenimo’s session today, it was so powerful and well facilitated. It is going to make my school year a lot easier.”

“I had the pleasure of attending Wenimo’s Racialized Trauma seminar... As a Black woman, I initially thought it would be best to avoid this meeting as I thought it would tax me with further emotional work; however, this was not the case. I appreciated her discourse, explanations, metaphors, and ability to engage participants.”

“I found Dr. Okoya’s presentation to be one of the most important things all teachers should be trained in prior to starting teaching. I'm glad that I was able to learn so much from her and apply it in my second year of teaching!”
– Teach for America corps member
“Wenimo’s presentation and facilitation skills are unparalleled. Her ability to balance content delivery and organic discussion are impressive, and make every session that she facilitates fruitful and engaging. She is able to create a warm and welcoming environment for the exchange of ideas, while still challenging participants to think deeply and critically about the questions at hand.
Wenimo also has a knack for infusing metaphor and humor into her delivery, which help to break concepts down and make even the most challenging topics approachable. I have seen her work with groups of almost every age, and many different backgrounds, and yet manages to elicit engagement and interest almost every time. I have learned a lot from Wenimo over the years about effective facilitation as I have both been taught by her, and worked alongside her, in workshop and content creation as well as delivery and facilitation.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of having Wenimo present and provide training to a team of over 1500 nurses and nursing supervisors on many occasions. Her presentations on children’s health, race, society, and trauma among other things have left a lasting impact. She always presents thought-provoking concepts to our team to translate within their work life and personal lives. Her training style engages her audience through aligning her message to the goals of our organization . Wenimo is always engaging, motivational, and evidence-based. She has great energy and is an amazing speaker. I highly recommend her for any training and speaking engagements.”

“As a non-profit organization advocating for the educational rights of children, 2020 was a difficult year. It quickly became clear that the never-ending pile of challenges was taking a toll on our staff of dedicated advocates and attorneys. In July 2020, Wenimo provided some much-needed relief for our staff through a training on community care ("co-care"). She spoke about the need to support one-another and masterfully wove in the complex themes of power and race dynamics. As a result of Wenimo's training, we now have a shared vocabulary from which to start conversations and recognize our own feelings of vicarious trauma and/or burnout. Inspired by Wenimo's training, we've also implemented several new co-care strategies to ensure that our staff feels connected, seen, and cared for. ”
